Just saw My Best Friend's Wedding. Now, I know this review is going to be of limited value, since I'm sure most of the people on this list have no intention of seeing this "chick flick."  But darn it, sometimes I just wanna be a chick.

It's a romantic comedy in the tradition of Four Weddings & a Funeral and Strictly Ballroom, from the director of Muriel's Wedding.  It's a fun, frothy, charming movie with nice performances from the four leads -- Julia Roberts at her liveliest, Dermot Mulroney, Cameron Diaz, and the outstanding Rupert Everett, who steals the movie -- and some fun supporting roles, particularly a pair of wickedly funny "vengeful sluts."

The best chemistry in the movie is not, however, between Mulroney and either of the women vying for his affection, but between Roberts and Everett (even though his character is, like the actor, gay).  Everett is by turns Bondishly suave, Noel Cowardly biting, and campily over-the-top; it makes you wonder why Roberts is so upset over losing Mulroney when she's got THIS best friend to fall back on.

In short, 4 Weddings may have done it better, but this is still a charming way to pass two hours
