They're coming right at me!
reviewed Tues, 07 Dec 1999
For
all those of you in town, and those of you with a local IMAX theater,
run,
do not walk, to see the spectacular 3-D IMAX film Galapagos
at the Natural History Museum. This is like no 3-D I've ever seen
-- it's unbelievably realistic, relying less on "it's coming right at
me!"
gimmicks than on making you feel like you're standing there on the lava
flows, peering over the ledge at a cranky cormorant. Plus you get
to wear these glasses that look like those oversized novelty
sunglasses.
You'll probably have to buy tickets at least a day in advance, because
they usually sell out all the day's shows early. It's worth the
trouble
of making two trips to the museum, though.
